These can each be increased quite significantly whilst you play, making it much easier to fight. You start off with a very small stamina bar, as well as the health bar. All actions require the use of a stamina bar, and an action typically takes one point. From a regular attack, to a charged version, or even dodge rolling. There’s a decent amount of actions for you in this fruit medley of a game. In my defence Garden Story really is similar to an old 2D Zelda game. It honestly feels like I played one Zelda game and now everything I play is a Zelda-like. Plum and Concord must also try to find a solution and discover what happened to the other guardians. As a Guardian it is your duty to help everyone and push back the Rot.
This infestation is causing real problems for all of the Groves inhabitants. The slimes, or the different parts of the Rot, are growing out of control all over the Grove. Literally, you must tend to the four seasons and spank some slimes. Along with Guardian Plum, the only other Guardian left, you’ll have to fix the land. Being taken under the wing of Guardian Plum, you are one of the inhabitants tasked with keeping the Grove safe. The main character is Concord, a grape that is just about to leave the kindergarten for the first time. Both being a genuinely reasonable price point in my opinion. I got Garden Story on the Switch for £17.99 but it seems to be £15.49 on Steam. Developed by Picogram, published by Rose City Games, and released on the 11th of August.
